If you haven’t made it to Tampa concerts since the pandemic closed down events at Amalie Arena, Raymond James Stadium and the Amphitheatre, you’ve still got time to see some great shows this year.

Geno Knight and Mason Dixon picked their 3 “gotta see” Tampa concerts still to come this year on this week’s episode of Experience Tampa Bay In 10 Minutes Or Less.

Mason Dixon’s 3 Must-See 2021 Concerts
Hall and Oates at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa on September 20
“I saw the band in the late 80s at “The Big Sombrero.” Daryl Hall was battling Lime Disease at the time and had to be carried on stage. Nobody knew at the time… they thought he’d been partying a little too much. But he put on a great performance.”

Bruce Hornsby at Ruth Eckerd Hall November 18
“I had Bruce on the show so many times. We’d give him a keyboard and he’d play. One day the door opened and Herb Alpert walked in. Bruce was a huge fan and almost fainted. He brought out the trumpet. They jammed. It was a great afternoon.”

Trans-Siberian Orchestra December 19 at Amalie Arena in Tampa
“It’s on the Sunday before Christmas. 2 shows. A dollar from every show will go to the Mason Dixon Christmas Wish Fund. The band has raised over a quarter of a million dollars for Mason’s Christmas Wish Fund over the years.”

Geno’s 3 Must-See 2021 Concerts
Vince Neil at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel in Tampa
“This one takes me back to my high school days. I’ve seen Motley Crue more times than I can count. And sure, Vince hardly hits any of the notes anymore. He’s out of breath and doesn’t even get half the lyrics out anymore. But I don’t care… once I hear those guitar riffs, I’m satisfied.”

Jimmy Buffett at Amalie Arena in Tampa on December 4
“I’ve seen Jimmy at Universal Orlando but it wasn’t the real Buffett concert experience. I need the total Buffett concert experience with the drunks and costumes.”

James Taylor at Amalie Arena in Tampa on November 11
“James is the soundtrack for where I grew up in New England. Last time he was in Tampa, honestly, I almost fell asleep. But there are just so many classics. Plus Jackson Browne is on this one.”

Here are more great shows coming to the Tampa area and a few worth a road trip!
